Creating rhythms, movements and most importantly vibrations of light and color, a painting is capable of evoking an emotional expression unlike the experience of simply looking at recognizable objects. A painting must stand alone, not merely as representation of an object independent of recognizable imagery. I aspire for my paintings to function on a level of abstraction, apart from conveying literal representation. I delight in color simply for the sake of color, recognizing that colors and shapes organized into recognizable subsections is secondary to the importance of color and lights. Slashing emotional brush strokes, vibrating follow the movements of thick paint, applied in the impasto technique.

Theatre Brown County "Get to know the Show"
“Get to know” our first production at Theatre Brown County
The ball is rolling! We will have a “Get to know Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike” meeting at the Playhouse at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3rd. This meeting is open to any and all who are interested in the relaunch of Theatre Brown County as a community theater. Even if you are just curious about what TBC will be, please attend and have your questions answered.
We’ll briefly touch upon what our concept of an all volunteer community theater is, how we intend to hold open auditions (no pre-casting), what the volunteer and learning opportunities are, and what areas we could use assistance with in putting on our first relaunch production.
We’ll introduce everyone to the Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike production, including a quick slide show of a previous production where we will discuss the play’s plot, set, costuming, and some of the character traits.
Finally we’ll briefly discuss the audition process for a community theater, and what we will be looking for in the 6 actors in the show. The plan is to hold auditions the third week in March. Rehearsals will start quickly for our opening night of June 5.
