A string band that produces songs spun from cautionary tales and poignant remembrances punctuated with drums, saw, and trumpet, Bigfoot Yancey delivers action packed performances that are authentically Indiana. Songwriter Mike Angel, of the historic Ford family of Brown County, leads the band while it pounds out hit after hit in a discography that dates back to the release of the EP “Welcome to the City” in 2015. Crawfordsville, Indiana’s own Bengebreakers are a three-piece indie-rock dynamo led by songwriter and riff-monster Zach Benge. A self-described weirdo that loves to spend time alone with his guitar, Benge taps into a musical flow that courses through his heart and out of his fingertips. His enthusiasm and love for music and live performance has shown itself in previous appearances at the Historic Brown County Playhouse where he thrilled audiences opening for JD Simo and participating in Rainwater Studios showcases as a solo artist and with the Bengebreakers.

Kicking off the evening we will present the winner of the “Take the Stage” program performing a brief solo acoustic set. Fans and judges will select this opening artist from 20 contestants participating in “Take the Stage” at Rainwater Studios in the months of January, February, and March. VIP tickets for the show include access to the downstairs green room prior to the show, complete with a private bar and light charcuterie. You can rub elbows with the evenings’ artists from 6:30 to 7:15, at which point you will be escorted to your reserved front and center seating. VIP guests also have access to our afterparty at the Ferguson House, a short walk from the Playhouse, with additional snacks and a cash bar.
