In conjunction with the Art Walk that occurs every 4th Friday, April through October, the Playhouse will have free entertainment from 6:30 onward. Various bands of different genres and different areas will be highlighted each month The bar and concessions will be open and the Art gallery of Artist Associates of Brown County will be the highlight. Enjoy visual art around town and then land at the playhouse for an evening of great live music.
DEADLINE
If you spent any time in the early to mid-80’s going to hear music in
nightclubs anywhere in the Midwest, at some point you probably crossed
paths with most of the musicians in the band Deadline. For it was then that
gifted vocalist Rick Alexander, then guitarist Jeff Lewis, drummer Dave
Lemonds and keyboardist David Smith came together as founding
members of the band Headline. A tight 8-piece rock band with a horn
section playing all over the Midwest as a top performing act.
When Headline split, the players went on to play for other regional acts,
and sidemen for national touring acts, occasionally coming back together to
record solo records for Rick Alexander and Jeff Lewis, as well as doing
studio projects for a laundry list of local and national artists.
Another key member of the band, saxophonist; arranger Jay Young, is also
a Headline alum who brings with him a very well-known three-piece horn
section featuring Gary Graziano on trumpet, and John Huntoon on
trombone. They are regularly featured on the nationally syndicated Bob
and Tom Show.
They have all come back together one more time to play songs they love
that have influenced who they are over the years, coming out this time as
Deadline (pun intended) and The Undertakers. This time they have also
added to their line-up Rich Morpurgo on lead guitar, and Craig Lemonds on
rhythm guitar/percussion/vocals, and Tom Clark on saxophone to round out
the lineup.
Deadline will bring their unique perspective on songs that you will know and
love that are not heard in a typical night club setting. Shows are being
booked now for the Fall and into 2023. They Plan on rocking until they
flatline!
